Aberdeen’s Farm
Aberdeen is considered an Agrihood, which simply means it is a planned community that integrates agriculture into a residential neighborhood. This connects residents back to the food they are eating in a very direct way, enabling farm-to-table living. Aberdeen’s farm also provides learning opportunities through education classes on the farm, opportunities to participate in growing and harvesting some of the produce, and a relaxing backdrop to your evening walks. The barn is a community hub anchoring the farm in its place and will feature a farm store, where residents can come purchase the fresh produce, along with an event space for the community. Among other things, the farm boasts pastures for farm animals, rows upon rows of sweet corn, a pumpkin patch, an orchard which will take a few years to grow up, and numerous plots for tomatoes, peppers, greens, carrots, berries, and much much more.
